Regulation’s role in delivering good conduct outcomes

Conduct regulation of both life and general insurers is inevitable, and will affect all consumers and participants in the insurance industry.  Come and hear from those intimately involved in conduct regulation from both government and private sector, and gain some insights into what constitutes good conduct, what regulation may look like, its implications, and what insurers have to say about it.

Speakers:

  • Daniel O’Grady is Principal Policy Advisor in MBIE’s Financial Markets Team and will be discussing the current conduct review and where it is heading.
  • Andrew Saunders is Regulatory Affairs Manager at the Insurance Council of New Zealand and will provide comment on general insurers’ perspective on conduct issues and regulation.
  • Murray Grant is a Senior Associate at Wotton + Kearney and will discuss whistleblowing, protected disclosures, and implications for insurer conduct regulation.
