This session on employment (focusing on insurance law issues) will cover challenges arising from this Covid-19 climate, including:
• The wage subsidy scheme – eligibility, declaration, employer obligations;
• Restructuring and redundancy – when and how a business can restructure (and how does the wage subsidy affect this);
• Agreeing reductions in remuneration/hours and days of work; what’s the proper process to avoid claims? How can it go wrong? and
• Policy coverage issues arising – the types of claims we foresee and the policy implications.
The session will give members an understanding of some of the complexities arising in the employment space as a result of Covid-19 and assist in your dealings with insureds.
